During the mountain climbing season, in between alpine ascents, it is sometimes possible to visit places that amaze with their atmosphere and energy. Climbing skills and physical fitness allow me to get to such wonderful places where the ordinary tourist has never set foot. Every year I expand and complete my collection of such experiences.
Classical 'Cover' view of Machu Picchu Monument
Today I will tell you about one place that is not directly related to mountaineering, but nevertheless, is very closely connected with the mountains. Traditionally, my climbing adventures in Peru end or begin here. That is world-famous Machu Picchu monument. Now I am ready to share with you the general facts and my personal impressions of it.
What is commonly called the Inca Observatory - the ruins on top of the cliff of Huayna Picchu
The complex of buildings of unknown purpose on the top of the mountain was discovered in 1911. Pilots flying over the impenetrable mountains northwest of the region's capital, Cusco, have repeatedly reported seeing something strange in the mountains. After some time, it was decided to send an expedition to study the strange anomaly in the mountain relief, which was reported by the pilots.
A fragment of the ancient city of Machu Picchu cleared of the jungle. And how much more is hidden under the thickets?!
In an extremely inaccessible place, under dense thickets of thorny bushes, archaeologists have discovered something incredible. Completely preserved in its original form, abandoned city of the Inca era. Not destroyed or plundered, like Cusco during the invasion of the conquistadors. Simply, for some unknown reason, abandoned by the inhabitants 400-500 years ago. The scientific value of the find seemed incredible - after all, not much information about the Inca civilization has come down to us. However, further study of the Machu Picchu Monument did not bring answers to the questions. Even worse. There were many more questions. And they still don't have an answer.
Fragment of polygonal masonry of one of the foundations of Machu Picchu
Having turned into an attractive tourist location, today, Machu Picchu has not revealed its secrets to the researchers. The general theories put forward by historians and archaeologists do not coincide with each other and often contradict. But the most important thing is that what you see with your own eyes does not fit into the framework of the rational theories built on the modern worldview.
Part of the Machu Picchu Monument called the Temple of the Condor. Purpose of this construction is unknown
As a guide I visit Machu Picchu quite often with touristic groups. Despite the frankly pop, tourist nature of this excursion, every time I can not get rid of the feeling of contact with some strange, mystical atmosphere of this place.
Monolithic granite block processed in 18 planes. Considered either an altar or a sundial
This atmosphere is so strong that even the flow of 1500-2000 people per day cannot trample and weaken it. Talking to the local guides, I heard about a dozen different theories and their variations about the origin and late history of Machu Picchu. In fact, each local guide invents as much as his imagination allows, based on the meager data of the official history. And what is left for them? Machu Picchu is unique in that there are no confirmed facts about its origin, purpose and final fate.
The local guide tells how multi-ton granite blocks were processed with bronze chisels. Yes, yes, it certainly was in that way.
There is no explanation for the very existence of Machu Picchu. Why was such a hard-to-reach place on top of the mountain chosen? This is not a fortification, there are no walls or military facilities on the Monument.
There is no explanation of the construction technology - even the modern means of processing durable materials do not allow work to be done in such volumes and with such accuracy. Theories about manual labor and grinding of giant granite blocks are outright nonsense.
Fragment of a building damaged by an earthquake. The builders did not use any mortar for laying the stones. Exceptionally precise fit
There is no explanation for the scarcity of archaeological finds - with such a number and density of buildings, there should be much more household garbage left.
There is no explanation for the disappearance of the inhabitants. According to the most conservative estimates, at least 1,500 people should have been constantly in Machu Picchu. They disappeared without a trace.
There is no explanation for the complete absence of burials from any historical period - the nearest known Inca cemetery is located 80 km from Machu Picchu. They didn't die, did they?
The closest Inca burial site is located over 80 km from Machu Picchu
There is no explanation for many more conflicting facts about this strange but very interesting place.
I think that very important information about the history of bygone civilizations is encrypted in such places. And these are not just meager historical facts. Something much more important is hidden in the silent stone outlines that have become a popular tourist attraction. It is quite possible that this information is of key importance for understanding the modern global processes and their mechanics. Perhaps the experience of the past civilizations is the key to understanding our own future. Who knows?
This stone structure is called the Beak of the Condor. It is believed that this place was used for sacrifices.
P.S. The most popular question of the Machu Picchu visitors – how they could do that? It seems to me that there is no answer to this question - too much information is lost. It's not just about technology. To understand their methods of work, you need first to understand the worldview of a bygone civilization, with their system of thinking. It is possible that their thinking was so different from ours that we would not even be able to realize many things. For example, we are 100% sure that the stones are solid and heavy. There can be no other way in our worldview system. But what if we radically change the system of thinking? Maybe the stones will become soft and light?
In addition, I think that perhaps some secrets and technologies of bygone civilizations have not been lost. They are simply hidden from our eyes so that people do not commit any catastrophic actions. I do not deny the possibility of the existence of people in our world - it can be Freemasons, Templars or any secret supranational formations that have knowledge and technologies that are far ahead of our “modern” level of progress. After all, such knowledge could bring a lot of harm if it were in the public domain.

MCS EDIT 2023
Our Principles
AlexClimb Rule #1 - Safety First
From the very beginning of our activity, here nearly 16 years, the first Principle of work of School of mountaineering and rock-climbing of MCS AlexClimb is the Safety Priority. On the basis of this Principle all process of training is based, all programs and rounds are developed and carried out only within this main principle. We consider that at professional approach to development of programs, at personal discipline and correctly put motivation - occupations by mountaineering and rock-climbing are COMPLETELY safe. And from the return - all troubles and accidents in our sport come from nonprofessionalism, from ignorance or neglect by elementary standards of safety, from irrational motivation, from revaluation of own forces and opportunities. All these prerequisites we COMPLETELY EXCLUDE in our work - ours Rock-climbing, Ice climbing and Mountaineering are based on one Principle - the Safety Priority. In rock-climbing, mountaineering and ice climbing, the Priority of Safety of MCS AlexClimb-is your personal security and comfort irrespective of, than we are engaged - we train muscles and we work technology of the movement in the sports hall and on the rock climbing wall, we make the way through snowstorm to top or we relax on golden sand of the Caribbean beach after hot day of trainings on rocks. The Safety priority - the main credo of School of mountaineering and rock-climbing of MCS AlexClimb.
AlexClimb Rule #2 - Leave No Trace
Closely interacting with Nature, working with the active programs in mountains, woods, lakes and rivers, we perfectly understand the importance of carefull and respectfull bahavior towards the Nature, for its resources. From the very beginning of our outdoor-activity we adopted rules of Leave No Trace technique - the standard of behavior of the person accepted in all the civilized world in relation to environment and especially - to the wild nature. After all on the relation of people to the nature near which they exist, itself can draw dalekoidushchy conclusions on the relation of these people to... Where and as we didn't travel - we don't reserve any garbage, we try to reduce whenever possible our influence on environment to a minimum. We clear earlier zagryazyonny tourist parking of the left garbage, we take out and we take out to utilization places that to us other people left there. We consider that only thus, at personal individual consciousness of each citizen, each tourist, climber or autotraveller, we will be able to keep the nature surrounding us in its state, natural, suitable for life, - in it pledge of the healthy future for ourselves and our children.
