Mountain climbing in Tanzania - it is not only Kilimanjaro climb!
Tanzania. This central African country became famous and very popular among tourists and climbers from all the world because of the fact that one of the most beautiful and fabulous mountains in the world is located on its territory - Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain of Tanzania and all Africa. Apart of Kilimanjaro, the dozen of Tanzanian mountains can be listed (mostly they are extinct volcanos), but there are no doubts that all that is just of the secondary importance comparing to the Roof of Africa - Kilimanjaro. In addition to mountain climbing, very attractive for the tourists in Tanzania is the variety of National parks, where everyone can meet face to face with the most of the species of the Africa animal world.
When the successor of Bismarck - Kaiser Wilhelm asked Kilimanjaro from Queen Victoria, his request seemed more like an ultimatum... The political situation in Europe did not allow even to think about the refusal of such a whim to the leader of the strongest European country... As a result of this minor historical fact, the modern straight border between Kenya and Tanzania, makes elaborate loop, skirting the highest mountain in Africa, in order to turn it into a part of Tanzania - a former German colony. This historic piece radically affected the current economic situation in these East African countries: income from the tourist boom on Kilimanjaro makes sizeable proportion of the national budget of Tanzania. At the same time Kenya remained content with the second highest mountain in Africa - Mount Kenya, Tana River, beautiful waterfalls and a small piece of Lake Victoria... For the first time, the leg of the white man was set on the completely covered by glaciers flat top of Kilimanjaro on the October 5, 1889.
The first conquerors of Kilimanjaro were famous Austrian explorer and geographer Hans Meyer from Leipzig and experienced climber Ludwig Purtscheller. Thrice Meyer tried to climb to the top of Kilimanjaro, but only the third attempt was successful - the climbers reached the Sunmmit of Kilimanjaro - highest point of "Roof of Africa" - an extinct volcano, nowadays bearing the name of Kibo. But on the old maps of Tanzania, you will not find such a title - the highest peak of Kilimanjaro they called the Peak of Kaiser Wilhelm - the name which was given by Meyer in honor of the Emperor of Germany, the nephew of the English Queen Victoria.
The name Mount Kilimanjaro - it is an origrinal name of colonial times, untouched by the political up and downs, the name given by the natives to the sacred shining mountain - in Swahili - Kilima Ndzharo means just that - "Shining Mountain".

After all on the relation of people to the nature near which they exist, itself can draw dalekoidushchy conclusions on the relation of these people to... Where and as we didn't travel - we don't reserve any garbage, we try to reduce whenever possible our influence on environment to a minimum. We clear earlier zagryazyonny tourist parking of the left garbage, we take out and we take out to utilization places that to us other people left there. We consider that only thus, at personal individual consciousness of each citizen, each tourist, climber or autotraveller, we will be able to keep the nature surrounding us in its state, natural, suitable for life, - in it pledge of the healthy future for ourselves and our children.
