Kamchatka mountaineering - "Climbing volcanoes Alaid, Fuss and Krenitskiy in Kuril islands" - climbing the most fascinating active volcanoes of Kuril islands from the MCS AlexClimb boat Base Camp!
Among the most inaccessible places on our planet, the Kuril Islands stand in about the same place as the Amazon forests, the ice fields of the North Pole or the snowy peaks of the Antarctica mountains. To get to these places is extremely difficult, despite all the achievements of modern transportation - this is the main attractiveness of such areas, their uniqueness.
MCS AlexClimb Mountaineering School presents a new exclusive program of climbing the most significant volcanoes of the Kuril Islands in the Far East of Russia. The peculiarity of this program is that all the climbing sites are located in a remote area of the Pacific Ocean and are accessible only from the sea - during this expedition our base camp will be located on a ship. For climbing volcanos, the group lands on the island for 1-2 days, and after ascent returns back to the boat to rest and move to the area of the next climb.
We chose the most interesting and highest volcanoes of the Kuril and Sakhalin regions - volcano Alaid (2339 m) on Atlasova island, volcano Fussa (1772 m) on Paramushir island, volcano Krenitsin (1324 m) on Onekotan island as the objects of climbing for our sailing/climbing expedition. All these mountains are not difficult from a climbing point of view, routes to their summits do not require climbing skills and the use of special equipment, but they have unique natural features and are of exceptional interest to the mountain nature lovers, people addicted to the travel and real adventures. Members of our expedition will not only see with their own eyes how a snow-white dome of a volcano, caressed by the rising sun, appears on a blue horizon of an endless ocean, like a mirage, but also personally meet the dawn at its summit, feel the gravity of each meter of elevation and enjoy the feeling of victory over oneself.
This 10-day program "Climbing Alaid and volcanoes in Kuril islans" was developed for people who have no experience in mountain climbing and who want to get closely acquainted with the wild nature of Kuril islands and Kamchatka. The program "Climbing Alaid and volcanoes in Kuril islands" is a combined alpine route which does not require overcoming any technically difficult obstacles nor long-term stay at high altitude conditions. Regardless your climbing or trekking experience, we recommend passing the MCS AlexClimb course of general physical preparation and course of Mountain Climbing Technique (basic level) before participating in this program.

The First Rule, by which we are guided in the development of our mountain programs - is safety. Professional Guides lead the group, the highest quality certificated equipment and the most modern navigation equipment are used. This guarantees the highest possible level of your safety in the mountains, which is the most important side of our work. As for Kamchatka programs - in addition to our climbing safety issues, the armed ranger accompanies the group to protect participants from too close contact with the wild life.

Guided ascent of volcano Alaid (2339 m) and volcanoes in Kuril islands
Easy climb, basic level
Day 1 - arrival in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, hotel accommodation
Day 2 - preparation for departure, embarkation, getting to the sea
Day 3 - arrival at the ancore site at the Atlasova island, landing, setting up a camp
Day 4 - climbing up and setting the Camp I 800 m
Day 5 - climbing Alaid volcano 2339 m, descent to the Camp I, rest and return to the boat
Day 6 - sailing to Paramushir island and landing at the foot of Fuss volcano, setting up the Camp I 400 m
Day 7 - climbing volcano Fussa 1772 m, descent to the camp, rest and return to the boat
Day 8 - sailing to the Onekatan island, landing at the foot of the Krenitsyn volcano, setting up the Camp I 450 m
Day 9 - climbing the external crater of Krenitsin volcano, descent to the camp, rest and return to the boat
Day 10 - sailing back to Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky

The price of the "Kamchatka. Climbing Alaid and volcanoes in Kuril islands 2021":

You have to be ready for:
- 5 days on the boat in rough sea conditions
- Camping life while climbing volcanoes;
- Cooking your meals by yourself while climbing mountains;
- Carrying a 12-15 kg backpack;
- Air temperature can be down to -5°C on the altitude higher than 2000 m;
- Average temperature on the route is comfortable: +14 - +25°C;
Conditions: minimum 4 participants, the Brief AlexClimb course of mountain technique is recommended before the trip.
The price includes: guide services, rent of the communal equipment (navigation equipment, cooking gear), hotel accommodation, transfers from the point of the beginning of the program to its end (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy), using the communal basic medical kit, local registering and climbing permits, food for the sea part and outdoor part of the program.
The price does not include: Russian visa charges*, International and domestic flight expenses to and from the point of the beginning of the program (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy), obligatory climbing insurance, rent of the personal equipment, food and drinks while being in cities, using the satellite phone.

In rock-climbing, mountaineering and ice climbing, the Priority of Safety of MCS AlexClimb-is your personal security and comfort irrespective of, than we are engaged - we train muscles and we work technology of the movement in the sports hall and on the rock climbing wall, we make the way through snowstorm to top or we relax on golden sand of the Caribbean beach after hot day of trainings on rocks. AlexClimb Rule #2 - Leave No Trace
Closely interacting with Nature, working with the active programs in mountains, woods, lakes and rivers, we perfectly understand the importance of carefull and respectfull bahavior towards the Nature, for its resources. From the very beginning of our outdoor-activity we adopted rules of Leave No Trace technique - the standard of behavior of the person accepted in all the civilized world in relation to environment and especially - to the wild nature. After all on the relation of people to the nature near which they exist, itself can draw dalekoidushchy conclusions on the relation of these people to... Where and as we didn't travel - we don't reserve any garbage, we try to reduce whenever possible our influence on environment to a minimum. We clear earlier zagryazyonny tourist parking of the left garbage, we take out and we take out to utilization places that to us other people left there. We consider that only thus, at personal individual consciousness of each citizen, each tourist, climber or autotraveller, we will be able to keep the nature surrounding us in its state, natural, suitable for life, - in it pledge of the healthy future for ourselves and our children.
